life's simple pleasures
we can get the greatest pleasure out of such simple things here. yesterday veronica made a little blueberry muffin cake from a betty crocker mix. the mix is ridiculously priced here, so in the past we have eyed it but not actually bought it. yesterday at janet's, we couldn't help ourselves and splurged! here's a shot of the little delight, split for our enjoyment this morning. next up, maybe we could find some way to make bagels....

I love the presentation...muffins, palm tree coffee cups, on that wonderful lime green and white cloth background ... with just a peak of the green foliage on the balcony. WHAT A LIFE !!!

happened upon your blog while trying to do more due diligence on becoming an expat in the dr. my husband and i just returned from our third vacation in cabarete. we are smitten. we live in rhode island, so it is fun to read your 'new england' perspective. love reading about lax, eZe, dominican plates, and let's not forget windsurfing. perhaps we will run into you on the beach....

adele, glad to hear that you are enjoying the blog! it's fun to hear from people like yourself when they discover it. i lived in newport, ri for a few summers. newport is one of my favorite places and certainly one that i miss. there is nothing like summer in new england. what part of RI are you from? let me know if i can answer any questions about being an expat here.
